All of you who started attending Unity since our last potluck will be honored, and all regular attendees who would like to meet and fellowship with our newcomers are invited to join us. Please sign up in the foyer and let us know what you will be bringing. Beverages will be provided.
Please join us in the Fellowship Hall on Saturday August 28th,

Free Reiki Sessions
Saturday, September 25th, 2:00 - 4:00 pm
Reiki means "Universal Life Energy" that creates and permeates all that is - including us. We haveto this energy for healing and growth. All it takes is the will to use this great gift. Reiki Practitioners of Unity are offering free Reiki treatments to our community. But of course if you want you can leave an Offering which will go to the church. Here's how it works. Each table will have four Reiki for each client. So the treatment will only take 15-20 minutes each. This way we can treat three clients an hour. There is a appointment sheet with appointment cards on the bulletin board, sign up for the time that’s best for you. Please wear comfortable clothes and socks. If you have any questions please call Berti Greene 578-9742.

Wednesday Noon Meditations
12:00-12:30 pm

Have you ever tried to meditate? Most of us are familiar with the benefits of meditation. (Daily meditation leads to successes such as better health, better concentration, and improved direction.) But many of us have difficulty or lack the required discipline. Every Wednesday at noon in the Sanctuary, William Ayers leads us in meditation. This is a great opportunity to become familiar with the basics of meditation and to improve your own practice. Come join us for a life-enhancing experience.

A Course in Miracles

Tuesdays, 7:15-9:00 pm

A Course in Miracles is a complete self-study spiritual thought system. As a three-volume curriculum consisting of a Text, Workbook for Students, and Manual for Teachers, it teaches that the way to universal love and peace—or remembering God—is by undoing guilt through forgiving others. The Course thus focuses on the healing of relationships and making them holy. A Course in Miracles also emphasizes that it is but one version of the universal curriculum, of which there are "many thousands." Consequently, even though the language of the Course is that of traditional Christianity, it expresses a non-sectarian, non-denominational spirituality. A Course in Miracles therefore is a universal spiritual teaching, not a religion.

Unity Church in the Rockies presents
Sacred Seasons

Sacred Seasons Cycles Image

In ancient times. our ancestors learned from the Earth, following her cycles and seasons as divine examples
of the spiraling Cycles of Life. As part of our Year of Ritual, we will share in a full cycle of Sacred Seasons ceremonies.
In 2010, we explore and remember.

February 13th
Awakening and Receiving (Spring)
9:00 - 4:00 pm

May 8th
Power and Patience (Summer)
10:00 - 4:00 pm

August 7th
Charity and Community (Fall)
10:00 - 4:00 pm

November
Rest and Reflection (Winter)
9:00 - 5:00 pm

What is it about nature that brings us such deep peace? She is forever the same, yet everchanging. Spring leads to Summer, Summer to Fall. Our lives follow these same cycles as we live in concert with the Earth – the same, yet always different. This full year program will include seasonal ceremonies and blessings, music, the making of spiritual tools, and so much more! Everyone 13 and older is invited to participate.

If you are 50 years or older, this program will be a pre-requisite for participation in the "Wisdom-Keepers" ceremonies in December 2008. Our Wise Women and Sage Men will cross the threshold as Elders in our community in a sacred and holy way. If you would like to participate, please plan to attend the cycles and seasons retreats in preparation.

Unity Yoga Classes

Are you looking to stay fit spiritually and physically?

Then you are invited to check out the Beginner/Intermediate level Yoga Classes

What is Yoga?

The word Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit Root yuj meaning to bind, join, attach and yoke, to direct and concentrate one's attention on, to use and apply. It also means union or communion. It is the true union of our will with the will of God. 'It thus means,' says Mahadev Desai in his introduction to the Gita according to Gandhi, 'the yoking of all the powers of body, mind and soul to God; it means the disciplining of the intellect, the mind, the emotions, the will, which that Yoga presupposes; it means a poise of the soul which enables one to look at life in all its aspects evenly.'

B.K.S. Iyengar

Please bring a yoga mat and/or blanket and wear comfortable clothes.

Lecture: Psyche & the Sacred - Spirituality beyond Religion
Speaker: Lionel Corbett., M.D. & Jungian Analyst
Friday Lecture, September 17th, 2010, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Entry: $8-members, $12-non-members

In his latest book Psyche and the Sacred: Spirituality beyond Religion, Lionel Corbett helps modern people discover the numinous presence of the divine within themselves as they live a busy life filled with secular activities. Dr. Corbett will talk about ways to find spiritually meaningful life without the need to embrace any particular theology. This approach also serves to deepen the spirituality of those who are committed to a religious tradition.

Workshop: Understanding Suffering & Evil:
A Depth Psychological Approach and Jung in Dialogue with the Soul:
Is Jungian Psychology a New Spiritual Form?

Facilitated by Lionel Corbett, M.D. & Jungian Analyst
Saturday, September 18th, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
Entry Information and Registration at www.csjung.org

In the morning, Lionel Corbett will lead a workshop exploring how suffering and evil can be understood through a psychological lens using the stories of Job and Medea, relating to them as contemporary individuals seeking relief from their own suffering or destructive impulses. Dr. Corbett will explore the relationship between Job's character structure and his experience of the numinous. In the afternoon, Dr. Corbett will explore the admonition that Jung received from an inner figure (as recorded in his journal, the Red Book) to herald a new spirituality. He will also address the concept of the Self as a "Spiritus Rector" (spiritual guide). (Lunch on your own).
Lionel Corbett is a Jungian analyst and doctor of medicine and psychiatry. His primary interests are the development of psychotherapy as a spiritual practice and the religious function of the psyche, especially the way in which personal religious experience is relevant to individual psychology. Dr. Corbett is a core faculty member and teaches depth psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute, Santa Barbara, California. He has developed a powerful approach to spirituality that is based on personal experience of the sacred, avoiding all forms of doctrine and dogma. He is the author of five books and many training films and professional articles. Full bio (and electronic versions of the registration and membership forms) at www.csjung.org.

You can find our events on the web at www.jungincolorado.org and then click on the link for the C. G. Jung Society of Colorado Springs. Contact us at 527-0622, 685-4205, or jungsocietycs@peoplepc.com

Deeksha Blessing

Sunday, September 12th, 1:00 - 3:00 pm

Give your self a gift of Oneness now. Create a space in your mind to experience your own Essence, the Oneness with all, with the God you are within. The Oneness Blessing/Deeksha is a neurological, electrical intelligent energy that is passed on through a brief hands on transmission. Once we have the constant mind chatter muted, we are in touch with our Higher Selves, our God Self. This is where healing begins. This is where we can contribute to changing the negative vibrations which are threatening our world. And it feels good.

Berti Green photoOneness Blessing (Deeksha) originated in India, and is well known through out India and Europe. Oneness Blessing (Deeksha) punches a hole through the wall of the mind. It is a hands-on transference of a Divine intelligent energy. This process creates a neurobiological shift in the brain and awakens the chakras (energy centers) in the body. This shift in consciousness begins to free you from the suffering created by the constant chattering of the mind. It balances the body's natural healing energies and attunes the brain, bringing a gradual end to the illusion of separation, thus Oneness.

Suggested Love Offering $25 individual / $35 family
